Our story
Shaar was founded in Vilnius in 2025 by a team frustrated with outdated classifieds platforms frozen in 2005. We believe buying and selling locally should be safe, simple, and smart — in your language.
Our mission
To connect communities across the Baltics and beyond with an AI-powered marketplace that speaks every language.
"I spent 25 years building physical marketplaces. Then I moved to Vilnius and couldn't find a decent place to buy a sofa online without switching between three outdated websites. That's when I decided to build the marketplace I always wanted."
Meet the founder
Vsevolod brings 25+ years of project management experience across retail, healthcare, and commercial real estate. He built and managed Europa City Mall in Volgograd — a physical marketplace — and later developed Harmony of Health clinic in Belgorod. Since 2019, he has been based in Vilnius, where he identified the gap in the Baltic classifieds market firsthand.
Shaar's entire MVP was built by Vsevolod solo, using AI as his development team — Claude for strategy and product architecture, Lovable for development. From concept to full-stack working product in weeks. This is not just the Shaar founding story — it is Shaar's product philosophy.
